HBO (Home Box Office) is an American premium cable television network owned by Time Warner. HBO airs theatrically released feature films, original television movies, and various original series, including flagship programs such as the Sopranos, Six Feet Under, and Sex and the City.

SoftSol has undertaken a major Legacy Modernization project for HBO. The subscriber community for HBO obtains its services via multiple distribution channels and service providers. HBO had a Forte based application for billing its service distributors and managing complex business deals. With Sun Microsystems phasing out support for Forte, HBO was in pressing need to replace the existing backbone application with Java technologies. An automated migration service from SoftSol was the only viable option to migrate the existing Forte application to deliver a reliable application within the stringent timelines and budget.
